Dragonfly in Jamaica

Photograph of a dragonfly taken early morning in Jamaica. I woke up while its still cool in Jamaica and saw this dragonfly on the clothes line. So I grabbed my camera and started snapping. My favourite shot was the shot below of the wings, so beautiful and delicate! Its really inspiring I could use the dragonfly's wings as inspiration for knit designs. So I'm going to keep this idea in mind and maybe I'll get a chance to use it in one of my projects.

Beautifly intricate and soft lines on the dragonfly wings.

Inspiration

Now that I've pretty much finished my course at Bournville. I'm
starting to look for inspiration for new projects and things I can try when I start my degree.
I'm really excited about trying new things, making new and better prints. So to keep my
head in the game and constantly inspired, I'm looking for inspiration and think about projects I can do! These are a few images of my inspiration from Vogue.co.uk :)

Its been a while

It's been a while since I seriously thought about fashion, bloging or even felt inspired to design something. But with the new school year approaching I have to get back to being motivated and inspired. Now that I've got over chicken pox and other illnesses, I plan to visit local galleries for new ideas and plan some goals I want to achieve creatively this year.

Today I while I was browsing Vogue.co.uk for inspiration I discovered a fantastic designer who inspired me and reminded me of why I love fashion so much. His name is Marios Schwab his Autumn 2010/11 collection was so simple and elegant with hints of the masculine office look.

Bournville Holiday Project: hexagons

My first attempt at creating samples for my Bournville Holiday Project went well but I wasn't a 100% happy. So I took inspiration from quilters and did some hexagon inspired samples. And I'm a lot happier :)

I think I'll continue in this direction.

Bournville Holiday Project: Textiles Update

These are the samples I've done so far for the Textiles part of my Bournville Holiday Project. Obviously they could be better, but the inspiration is not there.
Hopefully it will come back. However these are inspired by quilting artist I've been following here on blogger, especially her
